Celebrated Nollywood actress and producer Genevieve Nnaji is making her debut as a movie director with her upcoming movie titled “Lion Heart”, after making her debut as a movie producer with the movie “Road to Yesterday” in 2015.
The upcoming movie, “Lion Heart” which is being shot in Enugu state, revolves around an Igbo family involved in the transport business, starring Genevieve alongside other leading Nollywood actors including Pete Edochie, Kalu Ikeagwu, Steve Eboh and Jemima Osunde.
“Lion Heart” was written by C.J Fiery Obasi while the screenplay was written by Emil Garuba as well as “Road to Yesterday” director Ishaya Bako.
A report has it that “Taxi Driver (Oko Ashewo)” director Daniel Oriah was originally in talks to direct the movie before Genevieve took on the role of director.
The movie is being shot by BAFTA award winning cinematographer, Yinka Edward, who shot acclaimed movies such as Izu Ojukuw’s “’76”, Kunle Afolayan’s “October 1”, “Phone Swap” and more recently Omoni Oboli’s “Okafor’s Law”.
The movie, “Lion Heart”, does not have a release date as at the time of this publication.
