Our Upcoming star of the week is Nigerian futuristic artist Aniebietabasi Ekong aka Baddieani.
Ekong, who was recently featured on CNN’s African Voices described his art as “trying to make people see the beauty in themselves, to hold on to that, and try to better themselves”.
The 21-year old student of Rhode Island School of Design in the US creates stunning pictures with a mixture of 2D and 3D which includes himself, styled in unconventional creative ways.
“I always liked playing with clothes. I’m usually affiliated with unconventional clothing styles and the way I make this work still surprised my friends,” said Ekong during his interview with CNN.
Ekong is of the opinion that trends make the public look down on other styles that may not be considered, a notion he disagrees with.
