52-year old embattled journalist and social media personality, Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo, who was recently released on bail after she was accused of defaming the character of Rivers State-based Pastor David Ibiyomie, has been rearrested.

Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo, the daughter of former Governor of Oyo State, Victor Omololu-Olunloyo, had it that she was re-arrested after the magistrate bail of N200,000 was reportedly not perfected, hence she would be held in prison until July 5.

Kemi made the announcement via a tweet that said, “The prison said the warrant was canceled. Judicial error?”

However, she eventually gave details on the situation in a post on her Facebook page saying, “I need N100,000 to get a surety to perfect my magistrate bail so I don’t sleep in prison tonight.

I am in high spirits!!!

I WAS ARRESTED AGAIN TILL JULY 5th 2017. I’m in the court cell.

Prisons were served a court order and the court register said it was not ready yesterday or this morning. They purposely delayed it so that the prison can’t get it on time. The court started and they released the order taken to the prison. Too late. The judiciary has failed me!!

Case in magistrate court was not perfected. Prison says it was a canceled warrant. Complainant lawyers and prosecutor says no. I was ‘miraculous’ freed says the prosecutor.”

Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo was first arrested in March, after she accused Pastor David Ibiyeomie of a series of misconduct which included infidelities, prompting the pastor to accuse her of defamation of character.
