Rivers United Crash Out Of CAF Confed Cup

After two consecutive defeats Rivers United, Nigeria’s only continental football participants have crashed out of the CAF confederations cup.

The team was knocked out after a 2-1 defeat to FUS Rabat of Morocco which was far from shocking.

A  43rd minute goal from Bolaji Sakin gave the away side some hope but was short lived as goals from Youssef El Gnaoui and Mohamed Fouzaire ensured the Moroccans join Club Africain to progress into the quarter-finals from Group A.

In the other group game, Club Africain defeated KCCA of Uganda 3-0 in Tunisia. Meanwhile Rivers united whose game against MFM was rescheduled are at the bottom half of the table and have a big fight ahead to stay in the NPFL.
