Fans of Kannywood actress Rahama Sadau, who was banned from acting in the northern Nigerian movie industry by the Motion Pictures Practitioners of Nigeria (MOPPAN), are pleading with the newly elected leaders of MOPPAN to pardon Rahama Sadau and lift the ban on her, according to popular Kannywood movie promoter and marketer Hassana Dalhat.
In a chat with Premium Times, Hassana Dalhat said, “I spoke to people in Bauchi, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina and Gombe states and all of them are of the opinion that the actress needs to return to Kannywood. Although they queried her for violating some of the rules of the industry, they believe she should apologise for her wrong doings so she can return for the sake of her followers.”
23-year old Rahama Sadau was banned from acting in Hausa movies by MOPPAN after she was seen hugging Hausa rapper ClassiQ in his romantic music video titled “I Love You”.
Before the ban, Sadau was suspended from the Hausa movie industry for six months in 2015 for accusing movie director Adam Zango of sexual harassment.
