Nigerian-American rapper Wale Victor Akintimehin popularly called Wale has released his anticipated 5th studio album titled “Shine” ahead of schedule.
The album, which was scheduled to be released on May 5 was released one week early on Friday, April 28.
The album features Nigerian stars Wizkid, Davido, Olamide, as well as international stars Lil Wayne, Major Lazer, Dua Lipa, G-Eazy, J Balvin, Travis Scott, Chris Brown and Nigerian-Grenadian rapper Phil Ade.
“Shine” also features Wale’s 9 month old daughter Zyla Moon who was the inspiration behind the title of the album. Wale says, “I named my album SHiNE when I knew my babygirl was on the way … I want to be a better man than I ever been. I’m so flawed I’m so imperfect and the world knows it… I just want to honestly be the best version of myself I can be.. My focus is renewed I’m infinitely in love with my princess and I truly appreciate all the love you have shown her and how understanding many people who knew were .imma keep workin on me and pray to God I can design a young princess who flourishes to an absolute queen .. I got u baby … U go girl .. You are my everything and I’ll see to it we SHiNE my precious Zyla”
Wale and his longtime girlfriend, Chloe Alexis had their first baby, Zyla in July 2016.
The 32-year old rapper signed to Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group record label will be kicking off a US tour tagged “The Shine Tour” in May.
