Tyler, The Creator cancels South American tour

Tyler, The Creator has announced that he’s cancelled a series of South American live dates.

The Odd Future rapper was scheduled to play Lollapalooza festival legs in Chile, Argentina and Brazil later this month, as well as Festival Estéreo Picnic in Colombia.

Taking to Twitter, Tyler has now confirmed that he will no longer perform at any of the aforementioned shows.

“Hello, I’m not coming to South America as planned anymore,” the star wrote, adding that the news “sucks”.

Tyler continued: “I will be there at some point tho, sorry, I know y’all was really really looking forward to it, but, uhhh…. yeah, sometimes a duck isn’t a jean jacket… I’ll be out there one day.”

Tyler released his album ‘Flower Boy’, which was nominated for Best Rap Album at the Grammys, in July 2017.

He recently opened about the lukewarm reviews that its predecessor ‘Cherry Bomb’ received, saying that “everyone hated” it.

“For ‘Cherry Bomb’, I purposely was like ‘I don’t wanna get personal at all,’ like, ‘I’m just gonna make songs,’” Tyler said. “And in [‘Flower Boy’], I was like, ‘Alright, let me write down every feeling.’”

“Everyone hated it. Except for, like, real music lovers who cares about drums. Like, I opened a rap album with a rock song.”
